You have got to read the novel "The Last Song" by Nicholas Sparks. I know it is a romance novel but you have got yo read it especially if you have family problem. In this case, divorced parents. Those who experience separation between their parents especially at a young age would understand what the main character, Ronnie went through.

The Last Song tell the story of a teenage girl who loves to play piano and stopped playing when the parents filed the divorce paper. She spent the summer with her father. During that short period of time, she learnt a lot about love, not just young love but the love between a father and a daughter.

The novel was adapted into a movie. Miley Cyrus played the role of Ronnie Miller and the character of her father, Steve Miller, was played by Greg Kinnear. I always skip the ending of the movie because I know I would cry. From the scene Steve  Miller got sick until the end. I would shed tears. It reminded me of my own father. 

My father and I did not have the best relationship. We seldom talk to each other. It has been tough in the past few years. He got sick. I think that is the main reason why I cry every time I watch the movie. Imagining your father died is not a pretty picture. Yes, the character, Steve, was defeated in battle with cancer. Although, my father does not have cancer but he is very ill.
